Ideal holidays for the 60+ traveller
Collaborative Post
Holidaying options in your later years can often be considered limited. However, this is not the case. There are plenty of options and beautiful locations still to explore. From becoming submerged in different cultures, meeting new, like-minded people, and engaging in exciting activities, there is plenty out there to see and do regardless of your age, so don’t let it stop you! Here are our top few holiday ideas for the 60+ generation.
A golfing play and stay
Golf is not only an enjoyable activity for all. i=It is especially popular for the older generation, especially now the weather is getting warmer. Time spent outdoors is always great, even if you are not the one wanting to play a round – driving the golf buggy is always fun! Why not go on a golfing holiday, and stay in a luxury hotel for the weekend, enjoying some amazing food and quality facilities. Not only is this the perfect time to brush up on your golf skills and get competitive, but it is also a great place to meet new friends and enjoy a sophisticated evening.
A cruise
A cruise is a perfect opportunity to meet and spend time with new people, or go with a group of friends. There are always plenty of activities on board, from swimming pools, cocktails bars and even shopping and hair salons – there is something for everyone to enjoy. Even better, is that each day you can get off the ship and go explore a new country or city, with many activities being offered at each destination such as scuba diving or paddleboarding. Why not give something out of your comfort zone a go?
A countryside rental
Why not book a countryside rental property for a week, and explore the scenic surroundings? Whether in the Lake District or Devon, Britain boasts some of the most beautiful hikes in the world. Do some research prior to booking and plan any hikes and activities that you would like to do on your trip. Walking has excellent benefits for your physical and mental health and is also a great way to spend time with loved ones. How about inviting the family up to join you?
City break
A city break is a great opportunity to see famous landmarks and experience different cultures, whether this is within the UK or abroad. There are plenty of opportunities for shopping and souvenirs, and also get some exercise by walking between different monuments. We recommend sitting down with your partner or friend and creating a list of top destinations and cities you would like to visit and start ticking these off. There is no better time to get started!
