Best Ways to Travel in 2022

Collaborative Post

With summer fast approaching, many of us are keen to book a holiday abroad or even a staycation in the UK. This could be a luxury bucket list trip, interrailing or even a city break over the weekend. However, with many delays in air travel and upcoming railway strikes, many  are finding their holidays cancelled, and not the stress-free break that they were intending on having. Cruises are growing in popularity, due to the lack of delays – and they also offer the chance to explore a variety of different countries in one trip without all the hassle.

Why is travelling by train or plane not the best choice in 2022? 40,000 network rail staff are due to strike over the summer, causing significant delays and disruption across the country. If you are due to travel by train, make sure that you keep an eye on cancellations and always have a back up plan if your train is no longer running. Air travel has also been significantly affected by disruption, due to staff shortages. We have all seen the pictures of baggage reclaim centres across the country being overflowed by bags. As though this isn’t off-putting enough, RyanAir staff have been talking about striking over working conditions – and more could be set to follow this summer.

What’s the outlook for long road trips?

With petrol prices reaching record highs of 185.4p at UK petrol stations, road trips are becoming more expensive than ever before. With no signs of the prices reducing, more hefty prices can be expected in the coming weeks. If you are planning a road trip this summer, make sure that you factor this into your budget as it could have a significant increase in the cost of your trip.

Consider a cruise trip abroad

Why not consider cruise deals for your holiday?  Going on a cruise is a great way to make your money stretch further – with many offering all inclusive packages that include food, drinks and WIFI. On top of this, all your accommodation and transport to different destinations is taken care of, allowing you to spend your money on excursions or souvenirs. On some lines, children can even sail free or at discounted rates – so make sure that you have taken a look at all of your options before booking.

Whether you are going with friends or family, seeking an adventure holiday or a relaxing chilled out getaway, a cruise can be anything that you want it to be. With a variety of onboard activities from pools, adventure golf and kids club, you are able to keep everyone happy and entertained whilst travelling to your next destination.
